Gold Reef City offers a truly one stop wedding venue with all the charm of the Victorian Era. Experience the charm of a bygone era and make your special day something to remember forever. Weddings at the Gold Reef City Chapel offer a variety of ministers from different denominations, an organist to play the antique organ, a charming chapel and a horse and carriage to bring the bride and her father to the church in style. We cater for small intimate weddings and can accommodate up to 125 guests. The chapel is also used for the renewal of vows as well as baptisms. The chapel is available for weddings, renewal of vows and christenings any day of the week. Around the turn of the century during the gold rush a church was erected for the miners at Langlaagte. Due to its beauty and uniqueness this church was dismantled and reconstructed in Gold Reef City using the original beams, altar, organ, pews and stained glass windows. The chapel is painted, draped and adorned with baskets of flowers on the side walls as well as a large urn with flowers in front near the alter. There are pillars with baskets of flowers at the entrance. You may add additional flowers and remove them after the ceremony. Due to safety concerns candles are not permitted. Our organ is a genuine antique with pedals and pull stops. The organ is very quaint and in a good working condition. Many a wedding march and hymns have been played on the organ for our couples.
